The great city.
“As for the woman you saw, she is the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth.” Revelation 17:18.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is a Sovereign and independent global coordinating authority located in Geneva, Switzerland, a nation known for its neutrality. Geneva is the “Great City” in the context of the earlier verse. A Sovereign global authority must be situated in a neutral territory. This author prefers to refer to it as the coordinating authority responsible for ensuring adherence to international laws and rules governing global trade and commerce among member countries. Some analysts refer to it as the “One World Government.”
The “Great City,” as we will explore in subsequent blog posts, is destined to face an unprecedented disaster described in Revelation chapter 18. Based on my analysis, this disaster may very likely coincide with the outpouring of the seven last plagues mentioned in Revelation chapter 16. The potential for such a disaster is inherent in the global system. Many analysts with whom this author discussed this subject anticipate a challenging period once the system is fully implemented. Currently, there is no known solution to the unprecedented difficulties that the world will encounter during the early stages of the seventh kingdom.
A successful seventh kingdom does not depend on a one-world government. However, the global economy and commerce require unimpeded, free, and fair trade among sovereign nations. As envisioned by the architects of the global system, achieving such trade and commerce may necessitate the establishment of a global coordinating authority. This authority, however, must possess a character and function unprecedented in human history. It will ensure fairness and uniformity in the interactions among sovereign countries.
Nonetheless, in the author’s view, such an entity may lead to undesirable activities with unavoidable consequences, particularly in conflict resolution practices. This global authority, or one-world government, will be short-lived if the economic cycle remains unchanged. The seventh kingdom, referred to as “One World,” will eventually transform into ten regions, each led by the most influential country within that region. These ten influential nations, equated to the ten horns mentioned in Revelation chapter 17, will govern the world through an accord or agreement.
The “one world government,” as envisioned by the beast out of the sea, will promote and enforce the inalienable rights of individuals. “No nation owns these rights, and no nation is exempt from them.” These rights of individuals are the foundation of the United States of America. They are Limited Government Power, Rule of Law, Equal Justice for All, Respect for Women, Freedom of Speech, Religious Tolerance, and Private Property. Unprecedented challenges that humanity has never faced before will prompt a reevaluation of the values mentioned above, leading to the enforcement of much stricter governance. Global democracy will come to an end, and instead, ten leaders, as described in Revelation chapter 17, will govern their respective regions through a cooperative agreement among these ten regions. However, civil rights may be suspended during this time. Moving forward, military powers will maintain a semblance of peace worldwide, but this will come at the cost of less favorable living conditions.
